Logel Homes offers new apartment-style condos and townhomes in the mountain town west of Calgary.

Logel Homes threw open the doors to its first four show suites at Altitude at Three Sisters Mountain Village, a new condo development in Canmore, at its recent grand opening.
Located at the southeast end of the town, Altitude is comprised of 239 condos and townhomes, with 14 floor plans, and seven buildings. It will include 10 non-market affordable units.
The project marks the 25th multi-family development the Logel family ushered through, including homes built under the Logel Homes brand and the previous Cardel Lifestyles banner. Logel Homes, based in Calgary, is headed up by Tim Logel as chairman and CEO, with his two sons, Brayden Logel as president and Kevin Logel as construction manager, and his brother Brad Logel in sales.
Altitude is a bit of a full-circle moment for the family. While most of the projects have been in Calgary, the Bow Valley is familiar territory.
“My parents started our family business by taking a significant risk on their first development here in Canmore, a townhouse project in the Peaks of Grassi,” Brayden said at the grand opening. “At the time, the market wasn’t strong, and there was no guarantee the project would work out. Our family often visited the site, and for my brother and I, walking through those townhomes as they were being framed and coming back to visit the show home inspired us to follow our dad in his footsteps to be to be home builders.”
With three suites to tour on the main level of the first building — the Soleil (1,312 sq. ft., two bedroom and two bathrooms, starting at $929,900 plus GST), the Jackson (985 sq. ft., two bedroom and two bathrooms, starting at $739,900 plus GST), and the Azure (1,392 sq. ft., two bedroom and two bathrooms, starting at $944,900 plus GST for a similar floor plan) — don’t miss the one on the fourth floor — the Soleil 2 — a corner unit with two bedrooms, vaulted ceilings, a large great room with room for socializing, a linear fireplace and gorgeous views of the mountains.
The decks are notably generous, partly inset for privacy and shelter from the wind, with room for lounge chairs, table and barbecue. Outdoor living spaces rank highly for those looking at buying in Altitude, said Tim Logel.
“In the focus groups, they said, ‘We would like to have our barbecue, and we would like to have a small table and chairs, and two chairs to look at the mountains from with a glass of wine,’ ” said Tim about some of the thought that went into designing Altitude. “Another thing that has surprised us is that they’ll come up on the weekend, and we thought they’d be skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, but oftentimes they just want to relax.”
Information gathered from the focus groups also led to decisions such as in-floor heating so furniture fits easily instead of running up against wall registers. Quiet living conditions were highly desired, so care was taken with sound attenuation by adding extra insulation between units and using triple-pane glass in windows for both sound and climate control. Flooring is engineered with a solid wood top and design details include wooden beams.
