The residential construction industry honours top builders, developers, renovators and safety leadership with awards.

In a spectacular repeat performance, five Alberta residential builders and developers have earned the industry’s highest honours. Crowned as Pinnacle Award winners, Homes by Avi, Sorento Custom Homes, Logel Homes, Ultimate Renovations and Brookfield Residential all walked the stage to applause at the 2026 BILD Alberta Awards.

The awards celebrate the best of the best in the residential construction and development industry across Alberta and were announced at a gala event held at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge on Sept. 12 as part of the BILDing Forward Together Conference.

“These awards help Albertans see what excellence in our industry looks like,” says Scott Fash, chief executive officer of BILD Alberta. “This year’s winners are pushing boundaries and solving real challenges. Their creativity and commitment are not only raising the bar for our industry, but they are also helping shape stronger communities for Albertans.”

This year’s celebration brought together industry leaders from across the province to acknowledge exceptional achievements in home building, renovation, community development and safety leadership. The coveted Pinnacle Awards recognize members who not only excelled in the competition, but who also demonstrated leadership, customer satisfaction, community involvement, association participation, safety excellence and dedication to building vibrant Alberta communities.

Winners were chosen from 124 finalists, which had been honed down from more than 500 entries, the most ever in the BILD Alberta Award’s history.

Alberta’s Homes by Avi and Calgary’s Logel Homes earned the coveted Pinnacle Award for Large Volume Builder and Multi-family Builder, respectively, while Red Deer’s Sorento Custom Homes earned the title of Small Volume Builder. Ultimate Renovations, also from Calgary, walked away with top accolades for Renovator, while Brookfield Residential (Alberta) took the award for Developer. This is the second consecutive year that both Homes by Avi and Sorento Custom Homes have earned the coveted Pinnacle Award, while Homes by Avi also earned the award in 2023. Similarly, Brookfield Residential is a perennial Pinnacle winner, last earning the title of Pinnacle Developer in 2024. Ultimate Renovations also picked up the Renovator Pinnacle Award in 2023.

In addition to Homes by Avi and Sorento Custom Homes, last year’s Pinnacle Award winners also included Jayman Built Calgary for Multi-family Builder, Vicky’s Homes of Edmonton for Renovator and Calgary’s Genesis Land for Developer.

This year, Brookfield Residential was a strong contender from the get-go, earning seven finalist nods and then winning in five of the six developer categories, as well as the Developer Pinnacle Award. It’s new northwest Calgary community of Starling edged out Calgary’s Logan Landing (Genesis Land Development Corp.) and Heartwood (Rohit Group) for New Community, while its Rockland Park development, also in the northwest, summited for Growing Community, displacing two top contenders — Rangeview by Section23 Developments and Seton, also developed by Brookfield Residential. Starling also won for Best Show Home Parade, beating out Seton Ridge, Logan Landing and Rangeview. Meanwhile Brookfield’s Rockland Park Oasis Pool won for Best Community Feature, beating out The Block-Seton Homeowners Association and The Orchards-The Club House in Edmonton, both Brookfield Residential Projects.

Ultimate Renovations, winner of the Renovator Pinnacle Award, also showed up strong in the finalist segment, collecting eight finalist nominations across several categories and winning in three categories: Infill Under 2,500 sq. ft. for its Calgary Inner City Retreat; Kitchen Renovations Under $100,000 for its Springbank Modern Classic; and, Kitchen Renovation Over $100,000 for its Chef Crafted Kitchen.

Also showing well in the renovation categories, Calgary’s Rusch Design Build picked up wins in three renovation categories: Bathroom Renovation, Home Renovation $300,000-$600,000 and Home Renovation Over $600,000.

Earning the Pinnacle Award as Multi-family Builder, Logel Homes, added to its strong repertoire of industry wins this year. It earned seven finalist nods for its multi-family projects and developments and took the winner’s title in three categories: Multi-family Under 650 sq. ft. for its Carr 2; Multi-family 950-1,200 sq. ft. for the Cohen 4XL; and Multi-family 1,200-1,400 sq. ft. for the Soleil 2.

In the spring of 2026, it garnered another coveted award — Builder of the Year Large Volume Multi-family at the BILD-Calgary Region Awards.

Sorrento Homes, representing the Red Deer region, nudged itself firmly into the winners’ circle, garnering the Pinnacle Award for Small Volume Builder and carving out a top-seated place alongside Calgary and Edmonton builders, winning in three of the eight single family competition categories for its Cassidy project (Single Family 1,500-1,600 sq. ft.), the Madison (Single Family 1,600-1,700 sq. ft.) and the Everwood (Single Family 1,800-2,000 sq. ft.).

One of the most comprehensive winner of the evening was two-time Pinnacle Award winner Homes by Avi, winning for Large Volume Builder and earning the winning title in an additional four categories, including Community Service, Energy Efficiency, Multi-family 1,400-1,600 sq. ft. for The Finley, and for its stand-out 2025 Stampede Rotary Dream Home in the Single Family 2,400-2,600 sq. ft. category.
