Reporting to the Design Manager, we are looking for an independently contracted Interior Designer that will be responsible for providing homeowners with an exceptional customer service experience by assisting them with their Interior Selections. They will provide support in proposing new innovative products to the offering and continuous improvement of the overall homeowner experience. The interior designer will ensure homeowner expectations are met or exceeded and reflected in clear concise documentation delivered in a timely manner with attention to detail and ultimately the customer’s satisfaction.

Duties
What you’ll be doing
- Developing strong knowledge base in current interior design trends and multi-family customer needs
- Providing collaborative suggestions to enhance and update product offering
- Support Design Manager in enhancing product offering
- Organizing, booking, and maintaining schedules and appointments for homeowner selections
- Requesting product samples as needed from the Design Team
- Consistent communication with our homeowners and Design Team to ensure timelines are met
- Provide budget-conscious alternatives to our homeowners or re-selections due to discontinuation, stock or supply chain issues
- Providing prompt response to all communication requesting information or resolving field issues
- Attending show suite walkthroughs for installation guidelines and familiarization of products
- Attending product knowledge sessions with our Trade Partners
- Ensuring all homeowner Interior Selections are documented clearly
- Ensuring all upgraded product is documented correctly on a change order with applicable cost
- Ensuring all documents are uploaded to the designated areas for processing
- Ensuring proper notification is given to all pertinent departments when a homeowner change request is processed
- Booking all homeowner selection meetings in a timely manner to maintain construction timelines
Training and Certification
What you bring to the team
- Interior design skills which include color theory, budgeting, creativity, interior selections in collaboration with customer’s taste and vision as well as knowledge of design trends and styles
- Proficient conflict resolution and customer service skills
- An understanding of when solutions should be escalated to appropriate members of management
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to adjust communication style to various personality types
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
- Ability to work in a team or independently
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Ability to consistently meet changing deadlines on a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment strong ability to develop interpersonal relationships with internal staff and external trades/suppliers
Qualifications & Education
- Post-secondary education specifically an Interior Design degree/diploma
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in residential interior design and/or construction
- Experience in Sales is considered an asset
