Five Calgary new home builders have made the list of Canada’s 2020 Best Managed Companies in the annual poll conducted by Deloitte Private, a division of Deloitte.
Morrison Homes and Trico Homes retained their spot on the Platinum winner’s list reserved for companies that have been named a Best Managed Company for more than seven years in a row.
The Hopewell Group, which includes Hopewell Residential, and Logel Homes/Cardel Lifestyles are on the Gold winner’s list, which is reserved for companies that have been on the list for four, five or six years in a row.
For the first time, Calgary’s Rockwood Custom Homes snagged a spot as a Best Managed company.
Each award winner represents the best-in-class of companies owned and managed by Canadians that demonstrate strategy, capability and commitment to achieving sustainable growth.
This is the 11th time that Alberta-based Morrison has been on the list and its fifth consecutive year holding Platinum status.
“Being recognized once as a best managed company in Canada is a great achievement,” says Dave Gladney, Morrison president and CEO. “But being recognized 11 years in a row is nothing short of remarkable and a credit to our strong customer-first mindset.”
Morrison is currently building in 16 master planned communities in Calgary, Okotoks and Chestermere.
Hopewell was first named a Best Managed Company in 2016.
“We have built our companies on an integrated foundation related to residential real estate; retail, commercial and industrial real estate; and freight logistics, distribution and warehousing,” says Sanders Lee, founding partner and executive chairman of the Hopewell Group of Companies. “And, our focus is on the future, with a scalable, tech-enabled focus on property technology and final-mile delivery services.”
Hopewell Residential is developing and building in southeast Calgary in Copperfield, Hotchkiss and Mahogany and in the northwest in Arbour Lake West.
