‘The biggest night of the year for Calgary’s building industry’

BILDCR Awards celebrate the top homes, communities, marketing and sales achievements in the Calgary area.

For the sixth year in a row, Calgary-based homebuilder and developer Logel Homes has won a prestigious Grand Award at the 2025 Building Industry and Land Development Calgary Region Awards, winning for Multi-Family Large Volume Builder of the Year.

At the single-family level, Jayman Built picked up the title of Large Volume Single Family Builder of the Year for the 12th time, and Crafted Edge Homes was the three-time winner of the Renovator of the Year Award. Joining the three veteran winners were Dream Ridge Homes, winning Small Volume Single Family Builder of the Year, RareBuilt Homes for Small Volume Multi-family Builder of the Year, and Platform Insurance and Wildwood Cabinets respectively winning for Enterprise Partner of the Year and Boutique Partner of the Year.

With almost 1,400 people in attendance, the awards ceremony took place on April 11 as part of BILDCR’s highly anticipated annual gala event held at the BMO Centre in Calgary.

“This is genuinely the biggest night of the year for Calgary’s building industry, and this year was our most spectacular yet. It was an incredible gathering of the best of builders, renovators, developers and industry partners, who are literally shaping the city and the region around us,” says Brian Hahn, CEO of BILDCR.

The annual awards celebrate exceptional talent and best-in-class innovation and expertise in the residential home building industry within Calgary and region.

“There’s a real energy in the room at an event like this, you feel the pride, the camaraderie and the healthy but ferocious competitive spirit that makes Calgary’s building industry so strong,” says Hahn.

Winners were chosen from an initial pool of more than 800 entries, which were then whittled down to 227 finalists by a panel of over 100 industry judges.

On April 11, the top-in-class were announced. The final tally of 70 winners, which includes seven Grand Award winners, are spread across 11 categories — advertising and marketing, developer, industry achievement, multi-family community, multi-family design, multi-family home, single family home, partner, sales and information centre, renovator and sales achievement.

The seven BILD Grand Awards are the pinnacle of achievement for the Calgary Region home building industry and are presented for outstanding accomplishments in design, service, sales, advertising, marketing safety and customer care. Categories include four Builder of the Year awards, a Renovator of the Year award and two Partner of the Year awards.

Hahn says this year’s Grand Award finalists were selected from a highly competitive field of submissions, representing outstanding creativity, craftsmanship and leadership across 11 categories.

“To rise to the top of that incredibly competitive field is a genuine achievement. Grand award winners set the benchmark for the rest of the industry. Like their competitors, they seek to lead not just in design, but in customer experience, community building and delivering a truly world-class product.”

In addition to pocketing the Grand Award for Builder of the Year Multi-family Large Volume, Logel Homes shone brightly all around, earning 11 of the 70 awards up for grabs in a diverse array of categories from Best Website to Best Interior Decorating and Best Multi-Family Home Design in numerous categories and also stepping up with 18 finalist nominations. It took top spot in the Best Apartment Style category for its Carr 2 (up to $280,999), Findlay 2, Richler 2 ($281,000 to $380,999, taking first and second place), Jackson 2 ($381,000 to $500,999), and Cohen 4XL, Atwood 3ES ($501,000 to $680,999, again taking both first and second place). It also took multiple finalist nods earning second, third and fourth place in the Best New Multi-Family Home Design 1,451 sq. ft. and over.

In the renovation sphere several contenders shone, but once again and for the third year in a row Crafted Edge Homes slid into home, earning the title of Renovator of the Year, beating out several previous year winners. It won top prize in three of the eight renovation categories — Best Home Renovation (With Addition), Best Kitchen Renovation $90,000 to $149,999 and Best Bathroom-Ensuite Renovation. It also took three top finalist spots in two additional categories, Best Home Renovation without addition $350,000 and over and Best Exterior Renovation/ Outdoor Space.

When it came to community design winners, several were no strangers to walking the stage. Qualico Communities and Bordeaux Developments took the prize for Harmony as Community of the Year-Calgary Region. This is the 10thconsecutive year that the golf and lake community of Harmony has earned the title. Within Calgary proper, the lake community of Mahogany in Calgary’s southeast developed by Hopewell Residential once again rode the wave as winner of Community of the Year, while Rohit Group’s Home is in Heartwood, took the award for Best New Community of the Year.

Hahn says that the array and number of entries offered up a powerful statement about the depth, creativity, level of innovation and the competitive spirit of the industry.

“That level of participation tells you that Calgary’s builders, renovators and partners believe in what they’re doing, they’re proud of their work and they want it recognized,” he says. “Each entry represents real time, real investment and real commitment to excellence. These awards continue to be a cornerstone of our industry, showcasing the true innovation and thoughtfulness that goes into every product delivered to market. And, 850 entries is not just a number; it’s a testament to the vitality of this industry.”
